Join author and restaurant reviewer Wini Moranville for a book launch celebration for her latest book, Love Is My Favorite Flavor: A Midwestern Dining Critic Tells All. Wini will recount some great (and not-so-great) moments during her 15-year tenure as the Des Moines Register's restaurant reviewer. She will also discuss her extensive experience waiting tables in some iconic Des Moines restaurants—and how those experiences shaped her later work as a food critic. Wini Moranville currently covers the local food scene via her Substack newsletter, "Wini's Food Stories." From 1997 to 2012, she served as The Des Moines Register's dining critic and later wrote about local restaurants for dsm magazine. She's also written hundreds of stories for national food publications and websites and is the author of Love Is My Favorite Flavor: A Midwestern Dining Critic Tells All (University of Iowa Press; July 2024). Everyday French Cooking (Harvard Common Press, 2022) and The Little Women Cookbook (Harvard Common Press, 2019).
