JPL invites you to take part in a series of programs geared toward lifelong learning and skill building for adults. In this series, community professionals, expert DIY-ers, and enthusiastic hobbyists will provide opportunities to try new experiences, learn valuable techniques, and engage with fellow community members. The Skill Share Lending Library Series is for anyone and everyone - from those looking to save some green on that home project to the jack-of-all-trades hobbyist. All you need is a dash of passion for learning something new!

Join local garden and flower enthusiast Paula Farrell on an exploration into Ikebana! In this Skill Share event, Paula will demonstrate the art of Japanese flower arranging and her journey toward appreciating this classical art form. Try out this free-flowing technique that allows you to tap into your creativity, focusing on the beauty of each flower and stem selected. In this session, Paula will show you a rising form arrangement and provide essential tips for making arrangements at home.

Paula Farrell, of Floral Creations by Paula Kay, is an Ikebana enthusiast who has been practicing for approximately 5 years. Paula has previously demonstrated her work for the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, the Widowed Persons of Central Iowa, and the Japan America Society of Iowa.
