Come to JPL on Wednesday, December 6th from 11:30am to 12:30pm for a Lunch and Learn with a community educator from the Alzheimer’s Association. This program for caregivers explains the communication changes that take place throughout the course of Alzheimer’s disease, how to decode and respond to the verbal and behavioral messages delivered by someone with dementia, and strategies to connect and communicate at each state of the disease. Registration is appreciated for this free event.

Marcia Dicks is a volunteer community educator for the Alzheimer’s Association, Iowa Chapter. Marcia became her mother’s caregiver when she was diagnosed with Dementia and through the caretaking journey, became passionate about spreading awareness to patients and caregivers about Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
