DUE TO EXTREMEM WEATHER CONDITIONS, THIS CLASS HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2024.

You’ve seen all the ads for Ancestry.com but did you known that Ancestry Library is available at Johnston Public Library for free?  This class will walk you through the basics of using genealogy resources at the library as well as show you how to create a free account to access resources at home.  We’ll concentrate on exploring census records which are one of the building blocks of family history research.

Theresa Liewer is a past president of the Iowa Genealogical Society and one of their volunteer teachers.  She moderates monthly Zoom groups for IGS in Irish and DNA research and RootsMagic software.  Theresa loves to share her enthusiasm with newcomers to genealogy as well as experienced researchers. She’s been exploring her family history longer than she cares to admit but there are always more finds to make.
