In this hands-on session led by students and coaches of C3 Robotics team, students will learn about robotics, programming concepts, and terminology using micro:bit. The BBC micro:bit is a pocket-sized computer that introduces students to how software and hardware work together. It has a LED light display, buttons, sensors and many input/output features that, when programmed, let it interact with its user and the world around it. Microsoft MakeCode is a block-based coding interface that students use to bring computer science to life with the micro:bit or other hardware platforms. In this session, students will be introduced to the micro:bit and Microsoft MakeCode to complete a project - Making a rock-paper-scissors-playing robot. Grades 6—8. Registration required.
